Young Pioneers
Children and Young people want a future where they have choice and control, are able to make their own decisions, take risks, be supported to lead independent lives and form meaningful relationships with others.
To do this, young people have banded together to create the Young Pioneers - a group on a mission to make the change they want to see in Wiltshire!
Together with our SEND team, the Young Pioneers share what’s important to them with services, take part in campaigns and support each other to have their voices heard.

Work in a way that suits you
To be a Young Pioneer, you need to be aged between 5-25 with or without diagnosed Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) living in Wiltshire. This includes those with neurodiverse needs and mental health. You don’t need to have had an EHCP to be a Young Pioneer!
Meet the Young Pioneer Committee
The Young Pioneer Committee is a vibrant group of Young Pioneers passionate about representing the voices and needs of their peers.
They lead exciting campaigns, offer peer support, connect with professionals and host fun sessions. Want to see what the committee is up to? Follow us on social media for all the latest updates!
Innovators!
The SEND team have joined up with some amazing people in Wiltshire - who we’ve dubbed as Innovators, to bring fresh ideas to life.
Together they have the opportunity to help develop, design, implement, and evaluate solutions that truly work for young people. This means giving young people a powerful voice in shaping the services that directly impact their lives. Join us in making a difference!
