The Pioneers

The Pioneers are a network of disabled and older people from across the county, sharing their views and expertise to help develop and design services to live their lives well. To become a Pioneer, you simply need to be aged 5 and over and have lived experience of disability, autism and/or mental health conditions. It’s as simple as that!

What does being a Pioneer mean?

We're living in a time of exciting change, and this is your chance to make a real difference. Let’s come together to create a Wiltshire that’s designed by and works for disabled people. This is more than just a movement – it’s a disability revolution. This is our time to shine!

Here’s the deal: as a Pioneer, you get to create, shape, and champion campaigns that matter to you. Whether you’re raising awareness, working with councils, or collaborating with community groups to bring your insights to life, you’ll be at the heart of the action, helping others understand the experiences that need to be heard.

Being a Pioneer isn’t just about pushing for change; it’s about joining a movement of people who care, laugh, and work together to make things happen. And while we can’t guarantee every campaign will go exactly as planned, we can guarantee it’ll be a blast along the way. And the best part?
